RE: Awosting Reserve Development

Dear Governor Pataki:

I am writing to you because of my concern about the proposed Awosting Reserve development on the Shawangunk ridge.

This development would be devastating to the environmentally sensitive northern Shawangunk ridge; not only to the parcel of land targeted for development but the surrounding properties as well. It would drastically diminish the quality of life for those who live in the immediate region, and it would diminish the recreational experience of one-half million annual visitors to the area.

Please ensure that the environmental review, to be conducted by the Department of Environmental Conservation, receives very careful and thorough attention.
